We were invited to deliver a bespoke icing workshop for BBC Studios as part of a high-energy team activity day for producers of Bake Off from international versions airing around the world. When it comes to creative team events, this one was pretty special.
The brief was clear: create a fun, engaging team building activity that was hands-on, collaborative, and included a competitive edge. Naturally, a biscuit decorating workshop ticked every box.
To bring the experience to life, we designed an interactive corporate team building event centred around biscuit decorating, icing skills, and puzzle-solving challenges. Eight teams competed against each other to create an iced biscuit collage. Each biscuit was decorated individually before being assembled into a larger final image — a brilliant way to encourage teamwork, communication, and creative problem-solving.
And because no great engaging team event is complete without a twist, teams had to earn their icing bags by answering themed questions. This added a fast-paced, game-show-style element that kept everyone fully involved. There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and a lot of sprinting for icing bags!
The final image was cleverly divided into nine sections, with each square iced separately before being pieced together — turning the workshop into a collaborative puzzle-solving activity as well as a creative challenge. It was a perfect blend of hands-on team building, creative thinking, and playful competition.
The feedback from this fun corporate event was fantastic. Participants loved the icing workshop, enjoyed getting creative with the biscuit decorating, and appreciated how engaging and inclusive the activity felt. The only challenge? Resisting the temptation to eat the biscuits until the final biscuit collage was completed and the winning team announced!
